We are a Brighton and Hove based incorporated voluntary organisation of active musicians (players and teachers) committed to sharing music and the fun and challenges of music making with kids of all ages and abilities. We help young people build towards exams in their chosen instrument and far beyond!
Our music comes from many cultures, traditions and genres and our steering committee is of a very mixed age group.
We offer individual classes in classical and contemporary piano/keyboards, bass, drums, guitar, saxophone and singing. We compile group workshops and mentor bands in group dynamic, composition and song-writing. We perform at a whole heap of gigs, community events, concerts and festivals and we take pride in training young adults in stage rigging and sound engineering.
Our teachers are selected for their appeal to young people, helping them to become highly skilled performers and musical minds, whilst squeezing in lots of fun to boot! We prioritise developing a long term relationship with music over short term achievement, whether students wish to follow the exam route or not.
The teaching is suitable for all levels and ages giving the student a solid grounding in both the practical and theory aspects of their chosen instrument (and works, where appropriate to ABRSM music examinations)
Our rates are variable - please contact Jackie Chase (07799 564620 or 01273 601804) to learn more about ABRSM or to discuss tuition and arrange a session. The standard rate is £16 for 30 minutes or £8 for 20 minutes for under 7 years old.
We work hard to ensure that no child should ever be in a position where they cannot experience learning music because of their economic position.
We offer individual classes in:
Classical and contemporary piano
Also on the cards are group workshops and dedicated Mentors to guide bands in working as a group, composition and song-writing.
